Guide to green screen, having trouble loading the screen and setting up the wheel controller. This is a brief and easy guide to ensure that DiRT3 works with Windows 10 in 2020.

The game won’t start or is frozen on the load screen.
It’s an easy solution. Try two of the below.
- Visit the local files. Locate the “_CommonRedist” folder. Then, install the games from it.
- If installing drivers etc. isn’t working, you’ll need to remove them and then install the game.
Note: You don’t have to reinstall the entire game. Cut and paste the “audio cars and tracks” folders of your game files into an unnamed temporary folder. After that, uninstall the game via Steam. Once you’re done, transfer those 3 folders back to your “DiRT 3: Complete Edition” directory (or whatever you named your game folder was called) Then install the game using Steam. The process should find the files that are already there and download the rest.
- The green screen appears after the change in the graphic settings.
Go to your PC’s own “Documents” folder and find “My Games/DiRT3/hardware settings”.
In the “hardware settings” folder you need to open “hardware_settings_config.xml”.
The file is able to be opened using any text editing software (ie. notepad, Wordpad, etc. ).
Find “multisampling=” XXXX” and replace it with “8xmsaa”.

The wheels and pedals need to perform theirs.
This is very simple and straightforward.
Open the key mapping in the game and then change the mapping using your own wheel buttons.
It is important to note that external shifters aren’t allowed, but only paddles are supported. Both pedals and wheels work well.
From the “VIBRATION and Feedback” settings, I recommend making everything on and at 100% with respect to the vibration force that is too strong. This is mainly because it’s slightly excessive, at the very least on my G923. It’s all your choice.
